During the two-day Mercedes Benz Guard "Intensive Driving Safety Training" Chester Kruijt has been given additional professional know-how for the road. In the theory part he learned the essence about the physical fundamentals of driving and was familiarized with the special-protection functions of the vehicle. In the comprehensive practical part of training he got down to the real business of driving under the guidance of a team of instructors. Braking in bends, driving at the limits of the physically possible, differing weather conditions artificially created on the training track, critical traffic situations which they simulated for him, maneuvering with a "run-flat" system with a fully deflated tyre: every exercise was entirely realistic. Situations were designed so that a confident driving style was learned and practiced to enable him to detect risks, avoid dangers and master critical situations.
